Baby Shower Invites

Baby Shower Invites

I took a break from designing some new sewing patterns to make these lovely baby shower invitations for a good friend. They turned out soooo cute. She wanted to stick mostly with pink and gray. I print and cut these all at home with my Silhouette Cameo. (LOVE that thing!) It's got all the important information about the shower on a little library type card that slides into a pocket on the front. Top off the little flower embellishment with some glitter Stickles, Add some fun address labels on the envelope, and they're good to go! I'll be headed up to Dallas next weekend for the actual shower and still have all … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday: Congrats Gift Card Holder

Tutorial Tuesday: Congrats Gift Card Holder

Here's a cute little project that you can complete for someone buying a new home: It's fairly easy to do.  I'll show you how! Just cut an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of patterned paper in half so you've got an 4 1/4" x 11" piece.  Fold in both edges towards the center making a gate folded card. Add your roof onto the card.  Here's the template for you!  Just print and trace to make your roof.   (I also included with the template the bushes and the inside sentiment if you don't want to print your own!) Fold the roof flap and attach the roof to the back of the card: Finish up the front by adding a door and bushes and a scalloped edge to … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday: Stamping on Vinyl

Tutorial Tuesday: Stamping on Vinyl

We're going to embellish a sketchbook today.  I usually buy mine in packs of 3 plain ones and embellish them depending on my mood or favorite color.  This weekend I finished filling up one sketchbook and needed to get another one ready to go.  My last one was embossed paper and velvet ribbon: I went with something a little more fall feeling this time around.  I had a scrap of red vinyl in my scrap bag and stamped a pattern on that.  I really like how it turned out! Want to make one?  It's easy: Use pinking shears to cut a 1" strip of the vinyl.  This gives it a nice zig-zag edge.  Stamp directly onto the vinyl with a permanent … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday: Origami Shirt and Tie

We're going to make a great embellishment today, just in time for Father's Day!  I'll take you through the steps to make an origami shirt and add a cute little ribbon tie to finish it off. Start with a piece of paper that's 4" x 5 1/2".  The rest of the instructions are in the video.  I find that it's always easier to see origami as it's done, instead of seeing step by step pictures of the process. Here's a close up of the shirt and tie.  Try adding a mini metal brad for a tie tack! Supplies: Basic Grey papers, Cuttlebug embossing folder from the Asian Set, Adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, ribbon from my scrap … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday: Strawberry Boxes
