Tutorial Tuesday: Photo Printing on Fabric

Tutorial Tuesday: Photo Printing on Fabric

I love printing on fabric!  Did you know that you can too?  It's actually fairly easy and I used this method to make my card today for the tutorial.  I wanted a note card I could use for a variety of purposes and I wanted to incorporate some photos I took in Europe this summer.  Here's what I came up with: To prepare your fabric for printing you'll need to take a piece of freezer paper and fabric and cut them slightly larger than 8 ½" x 11".  Iron the fabric to the paper.  (Make sure the paper is ironed with the shiny side touching the fabric.)  Trim the paper to exactly 8 ½" x 11" to fit in your printer.  Get your photo ready to … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday – Quick and Simple Card

I've almost finished unpacking my craft room from my move!  Yeah!  I found just enough supplies to make a quick Thinking of You card today.  I can't wait for the next few months though!  It's my favorite time to craft!  I LOVE fall and winter projects and I can't wait to show you what I've been working on for just such the occasion! I used the following sets to make this card: Starburst shape from Outside The Box, Thinking of You sentiment from Furnishing Fun. Just stamp the starburst using a few different colors of coordinating ink and top off the center with some coordinating colors of Stickles.  Stamp the sentiment and make a … [Read more...]

"Hi there!  It's Michele bringing you a fun Note Card Holder tutorial that uses the Build A Border set. Release Event Recap

Last weekend I spent some time at Craft Fancy in the Chicago area!  They are the newest retailer to carry my stamps in their store and I had an awesome time meeting some of you and seeing what their design team made!  This is the Make & Take that Marnie taught everyone how to make!  Isn't it great?  I love the combo of sky blue and happy orange! They used the Boughs stamp set, the sentiment from the Furnishing Fun set and the new Zing embossing powder from American Crafts.  The embossing powder is awesome!  It's works well on even the finest of stamps and comes in great fresh colors!  Thanks Marnie for letting me share! … [Read more...]

Glittered Scratch Off Joke Cards

Glittered Scratch Off Joke Cards

I've had this idea bookmarked for a while and have been mulling over the best thing to do with it.  I figured that since it's back to school time there are lots of lunches being made.  One of my favorite things growing up was that my dad hid little notes in our lunches for us to find.  Based off this memory, I made some cute little joke cards for you to sneak in your child's lunch! So gather up your supplies and let's get going: 1 Free Joke Card PDF printed on white cardstock (click the link to download) Foam Paint Brush Acrylic Paint in coordinating colors (I used Pumpkin and Paradise) Coordinating Glitter (I used Martha Stewarts … [Read more...]

Ribbon Flower Embellished Card

Ribbon Flower Embellished Card

Ok, so I got a little carried away with these ribbon flowers and made a few extra.  Then I experimented with some different widths of ribbon.  Here's a card I made with a few of them. The larger flower was made from some 1 1/2" wide satin ribbon.  I LOVE how it turned out!  I added a fancy brad in the middle for a little accented touch.  What do you think?  I'm thinking they would also make great hair clips, brooches, or embellishments on a little handbag! … [Read more...]

Customizable Mother’s Day Cards Anyone?

May 5, 2009

Thank you so much to all my testers! I made a few changes based on the feedback I got from you and here's the final product! Download the PDF here. There are two cards on the sheet. Just print on 1 sheet of white cardstock, cut in half, embellish, and you're done! But wait, you might ask why I had some testers test this project out first. It's because the sentiment on the front of the card can be whatever YOU want it to be! (Look for more projects with this feature shortly!) When the PDF opens up, click on the sentiment where it says Type Custom Sentiment Here and type away to your hearts content. These cards will allow you two … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday-Happy Spring!

March 24, 2009

Here's a quick Happy Spring Card I did this weekend in honor of the 1st day of Spring. This would also make a great Easter themed card! I used my Have A Tweet Day clear stamp set for this one. I LOVE the little nest stamp. If you look at the stamp set you'll see a little "bundle" of sticks. With this, you can make your nest as big or as small as you'd like. Just stamp it multiple times in an oval shape to get your nest! Or if you want a border, just stamp it around in the shape of a circle or square. (It's super easy to do because your stamp and the mounting block are clear so you can see right through everything to line it all … [Read more...]

Just Because…

March 13, 2009

Thank you everyone for all the suggestions, both comments and emails! There were lots of great ideas! I did a few this time, and next time I'll do the rest because I just couldn't narrow it down! For this download you get 4 cards! There are 2 blank square ones, and two rectangular ones that fit inside a standard sized envelope. Those two are Thinking of You and Just Because cards. I honestly can't tell you which one is my favorite because I like them all so much! Here's what the sheet looks like printed out: All you will need is white cardstock, paper trimmer, and a either an x-acto knife or sharp pointed scissors. The sheet will … [Read more...]
