Tutorial Tuesday: Patriotic Foiled Napkins
Today we're getting ready for July 4th by foiling some fabric napkins! It's sooo easy! I promise! I made my own napkins for this project. Pre-made ones from the store will work just fine too! Here's what you'll need: Heat'n Bond Ultra Hold (Any double sided fabric adhesive will work, just make sure it's washable!) Silver Foil designed specifically for fabric Iron Napkins to foil (I made mine by cutting some squares and using my serger to make a rolled hem on the edges. Next time I think I'll use red and navy thread instead of the white thread though!) Let's get going! Cut out some star shapes from the Heat'n Bond. … [Read more...]
Tutorial Tuesday: No-Sew Star Banner
Though I used fabric for this project, no sewing is required! Here's what you'll need to make your own star banner: 1 package Heat N Bond (I used Heavy, but Lite will work too.) White fabric Ribbon (Cut out the length you'd like to have, plus 24" extra to allow room on both ends to tie.) Iron Fabric Scissors Star template (Click link to download.) Decide how long you'd like your completed banner to be. *Warning: A smidgen of math is required. You'll place stars approximately every 6", so if you want a 5' banner, you'll need 10 completed stars. Since each completed star takes two shapes you'll need to cut out … [Read more...]

July 4th Project
This project is along the same lines of stamping on napkins. I wanted a little more pattern on these ones. Items needed: 1 fat quarter fabric (for those that aren't quilters it's where they take 1 yard of fabric and it cut into quarters) StazOn ink various colors embroidery floss I cut out scraps of a neutral color fabric (thanks again Celia for the scraps!) I stamped the star from the Bough set and hand stitched around the image. I used a french knot at the star points, and a straight stitch for the outline. I used the water soluble pen to write "freedom" and "liberty" and then I free stitched those. I trimmed each one with … [Read more...]
