Tutorial…Saturday: Suit Dust Jackets

Tutorial…Saturday: Suit Dust Jackets

So, a little while ago my husband and I were walking through The Container Store (which I LOVE) and we saw these little shoulder protectors for suits. They are designed to slip over the hanger and keep dust from collecting on your nice suits. I thought they were a great idea, but just looked blah. (Not to mention they were $10 a piece for some plastic!) Then the light bulb went off! I could make my own and choose whatever fabric I'd like to use! Then I could guarantee that they wouldn't look blah! Here's what you need to make yours: 1/3 yard fabric Template (Download here, making sure the 1" boxes print at 1".) Cut out and piece the … [Read more...]

New Sewing Pattern – Beach Towel 2.0

I'm finally almost unpacked from my move and have had a chance to finish a sewing pattern I've been working on for a few weeks! It's available in the store now.   I call it Beach Towel 2.0! Don't let the wind or a towel that won't stay on your chair hamper your summer fun! You can upgrade your standard towel to add handles, pockets, and a way to attach it to the chair. There are two different pocket options, one with a secured flap for ID cards, a phone, etc., and an open one that will fit a water bottle and snacks! When you're done at the pool, lake, or beach, easily fold it up into a tote with handles! Use the 11 pages of … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday: Spider Favor Boxes and Spooky Votives

Tutorial Tuesday: Spider Favor Boxes and Spooky Votives

So this weekend I made a little spider box! What?  You don't see it on my table?  This is what my table looked like while trying to figure out the pattern for that little box!  (I'm not a clean crafter, that's for sure!) Then I took a nap-and my brain kept working on it.  I love how your brain is always working on solutions to problems, even if you're not consciously working on it!  I woke up with the perfect solution and sketched it out right away: Want to make one?  I've got the template for you!  Just download the pdf, cut, and trace onto your best black spider paper, attach ribbon legs underneath and you're done! To … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday: Brad Attack!

Tutorial Tuesday: Brad Attack!

I saw candy corn at the store this weekend and was reminded of how cute those little things are, plus they are just so delicious!  I knew I had to do something with a candy corn shape on it so we'll be making this card today: In case you were wondering, yes, those are ALL brads! But don't worry I've made things easy for you!  Here's the layout I did in Illustrator!  Just print it here and you're ready to go! I have lots of brads, and for some reason I had a TON of brass colored brads, which is weird because I think it's safe to say I NEVER use brass colored brads on my projects!  I wondered if I could maybe, just maybe, make them … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday: Sewing project anyone?

Today I wanted to share with you a little project that I've been working on exclusively for BurdaStyle!  It's called the Cafe Collection.  They asked me to come up with a complete dining room pattern set with instructions.  The first installment is a nice spring set with gorgeous chiffon and satin flowers.  I'll also be showing you how to slightly modify the original for lots of different holidays coming up this year! You can download the full set of instructions and patterns for each (for FREE!) directly from BurdaStyle.  Enjoy! Erin … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday: Strawberry Boxes

I absolutely love strawberries!  Chocolate covered strawberries are great, but what about little strawberry boxes with chocolate inside?  Don't worry, I've got you covered!  (No pun intended!)  These would make great party favors, brunch decorations, or a great addition to a Mother's Day gift!  (I know I'll be sticking a few in the package I'm sending out!) Download the PDF here.  It includes the Strawberry boxes in a light and dark pink, 2 different cards, and the blank template if you want to use your own patterned paper to make the boxes!  (Have a Cricut and the SCAL software?  You can download the box template here and the leaf … [Read more...]

Valentine’s Day Cards Download

Valentine’s Day Cards Download

Need a quick Valentine's Day Card?  I've even done two different colorways for you:  Sherbet and Jewel. Download the Sherbet one here and Download the Jewel one here. But wait!  Before you print them out try this: It's called a Color Check!  Print this out first on your printer, then you can see how the colors will come out on your own printer, before you print the full sheet of cards!  I know that it can be annoying to download and print something, only to have it come out different colors than you wanted it to because of differences in printers and computer monitors.  Now you won't waste paper or ink!  Download the Color Check … [Read more...]

Glittered Scratch Off Joke Cards

Glittered Scratch Off Joke Cards

I've had this idea bookmarked for a while and have been mulling over the best thing to do with it.  I figured that since it's back to school time there are lots of lunches being made.  One of my favorite things growing up was that my dad hid little notes in our lunches for us to find.  Based off this memory, I made some cute little joke cards for you to sneak in your child's lunch! So gather up your supplies and let's get going: 1 Free Joke Card PDF printed on white cardstock (click the link to download) Foam Paint Brush Acrylic Paint in coordinating colors (I used Pumpkin and Paradise) Coordinating Glitter (I used Martha Stewarts … [Read more...]
