Tutorial Tuesday: Thanksgiving Name Cards

I've been having fun with the new limited edition set Autumn Blessings!  Consequently I've got a few little projects with this versatile set!  First up are these great and easy to make name cards for your Thanksgiving table.  If you don't need name cards, try using them to label the dishes on the table instead! For the stand, cut a strip of paper 10" x 1 1/2".  Score at 1/2", 4", and 7 1/2".  Fold into a triangle shape and adhere the bottom flaps together to complete the stand.  Stamp the stitched, shaped border and add to it any of the fun autumn icons in the set.  I added the oak leaf, pumpkin, and acorn.  (The little leaves make great … [Read more...]

I've been working on some projects for BurdaStyle and teaching some classes at my local sewing shop and boy have I been having fun!  This weekend I taught 5 very talented and stylish ladies how to make my cute little stuffed pumpkin decorations!  (I'll have pictures of their projects soon!)  One of my upcoming classes I'll be teaching is a Thanksgiving table runner and place mats. Placecards for Thanksgiving!

Remember the place mat I shared with you a little while ago?  I made some little place cards to go with it!  I'll show you how and share with you the PDF so that you can make your own customized ones! What you'll need: A few sheets of patterned paper (Trimmed to 7 3/4" x 3 1/2") Orange Cardstock (Trimmed to 2 3/4" x 1 3/4") Light Ivory Cardstock (You'll print on this so make sure it's trimmed down to 8 1/2" x 11" to fit into your printer!) Thanksgiving Placemats

Ok, so I've got a easy project for your Thanksgiving Tables today for you!  I've made a little embroidered place mat tutorial and pattern for you! You know I love to keep my projects super simple so here's what you need: -1 Placemat (or as many as you need for all your guests)  I found my place-mat at Target for $2.99.  You can find plain place mats just about anywhere! -1 skein each DMC Embroidery Floss in green and orange (I used Orange DMC 3853 and Green DMC 3020) sewing needle, transfer pen (I like the kind that disappears on it's own!  It's awesome!) -1 Stitching Pattern from me.  Download here. Table-scape Class!

Table-scape Class!
